Cœur de Lion

This piece is a walking stick.

On the reverse is a snake and protection rune located just on the curve into the main shaft and where the thumb can caress the head of the snake.

really great! Looks like an old pipe my grandfather had a long time ago. They were carved with faces, I'm not sure, but I think they were robin hood and his merry band.

Wonderful work, Dave. Was the head of the stick part of the root ball?

Ethan: once it was completed it looked 'Norman' hence the reference to the Norman King Richard.

Bob: I didnt cut it; my father in law had it in his garage for a year or so. I think its a branch junction which was low to the ground.

I also thought of the beautifully carved pipes with faces..... an old memory from my childhood. Wonderful walking stick, Dave.
