Walking woodwose with leaves.

The video shows the latest walking stick.

I have now run out of hazel sticks so will be moving back to woodwose carvings in logs. I have a large trunk which I might do a totem style carving. watch this space.

This fella is complimented with leaves and runic symbols. I have also experimented in adding a brass and bronze military button. quite a special button to me; it actually belonged to my grandfather and is WWII vintage. I have a brother button on my Australian bush hat. this stick is most definitely NOT for sale but is a gift for someone special ~ The son of the original button owner ;-) hope he likes it!

His facial features are some of the most detailed I have done and the eyes are 'v' carved to give a different look to the usual round stone carvers approach to pupil carving, additionally the tip of his nose still sports bark.

I hope you like him and your comments and feedback are more than welcome.

Regards Dave

Great Video! All that in a year! wonderful! I have been messing around in our backwood lot with Gramps' old chisels making similar faces in the trees. Can't wait to see what ya come up with next!
