Sphaeroblast Carving 4

If you scroll back to sphaeroblast post 1 posted 8th Jan 2009 the first photo 'A collection of beech tree sphaeroblasts' shows a large sphaeroblast in the top left hand. The carving below was done using that piece.
I decided to do a double sided carving and try out a different approach for the eyes.

The two carvings surprisingly came out totally different like two sides to a personality. the first has a very strong look with a full chin while the flip side seems weaker, more thoughtful.
Finished in antique oil (fewer coats to get a Matt look). The finished piece is approximately 2inches long.
